The Games brings in about 8,000 people every year, so we rely on our volunteers to make the day run smoothly.

The Charleston Scottish Games & Highland Gathering is dedicated to preserving and promoting Scottish heritage and history in the Lowcountry and beyond. Through athletic competitions, highland dance competitions, border collie demonstrations, live music, delicious food and craft beer, children’s play area, vendors, and more, we provide an exciting and fun space to promote Scottish culture.

Keep Scottish Traditions Alive in Charleston

The Games are made possible by the Scottish Society of Charleston, Inc., a nonprofit that helps keep alive Scottish traditions and history in the community. A major purpose of the Society is to support the community by donating to local charities and supporting students through a scholarship program.

Become a volunteer and allow us to fulfill our mission for another year. Did you know we are the second oldest event of our kind in the southeast? We originated in 1971 and have grown ever since, becoming a staple event in the Charleston community. Our success has been largely made possible by volunteers. Are you generous and talented enough to join our team and help make the Charleston Scottish Games and Highland Gathering a success again this year?
